Writing on the wall - A Collection of Markings (2026)

Red: Intentional and done with malice

Blue: Nature crept it and made its mark

Yellow: Possible clumsiness or disregard

Green: Unintentional and made by following rules

Pink: What the hell happened here

Orange: Disregard or clumsiness

The places and houses we inhabit can be looked at as an extension of our bodies. Our presence, repetitive motions, disregard, rulemaking, rule ignoring, clumsiness and oversight create markings that we choose to ignore in our surroundings. These markings are either covered or uncovered but they remain all the same a part of a story of a place or an occurrence. 

This series consists of studies of damages or markings in architecture that are carved and imprinted onto stoneware ceramic. They are placed in a colour system of how the artist believes the markings were made.
